See I told you so

For all of you who are patiently waiting on the edge of your seat for this post:

I told you I was crafting. and sewing. All in one. Wow - amazing.

So take a looksie at another Christmas gift. A fun fabric box, for a fun First Grade Teacher.

At first I was going to do teacher-y fabric. But then I got thinking - if I was a teacher and everyone always gave me teacher-y things for gifts - then I might get a little sick of it. Teacher friends out there in blog-land ..... help me out on this. Am I right?

Anyway, even if I'm not - C's first grade teacher has a great summertime...flip-flop....beach ball.. Jimmy Buffett-esque theme going on in her room (which by the way - made me KNOW I was going to like this woman!) and so I thought - a summertime, flip-flop fabric box. Brilliant!
And to not take out all of the teacher-y-ness of the gift - I am filling it with all sorts of teacher-y stuff. You know ---- crayons, pencils, paper, glue ------ all the essentials!

on a side note - see those light and dark area's - they are called shadows! and shadows are made from the SUN!!! It does still shine in Michigan!!!!

I've got one more fun fabric box in the making for the our other teacher. She, too, will be getting the fun, summertime, flip-flop, Jimmy Buffett-esqe fabric. I don't know if she likes it so much - but who can't like a little reminder of summertime when it's so stinking cold here?!?!?

Slowly but surely I am getting things made and completed. I haven't gotten nearly as much done this Christmas as I would like to have, but some is better than nothing. I should be finishing up a quilt with in the next week for another gift, and pictures coming as soon as I'm done with it.

Thanks for tuning in, my blog-land peeps!!

You have... peeps?? Who knew?

Love the non-teacher-y teacher gifts. You are such a clever girl.

BTW, had dinner at Jimmy Buffet's on Saturday night. A yummy burger and fries. Still searching for the lost shaker of salt...

Very cute...
I'm a teacher and I almost always get coffee mugs and chocolate...
The flip-flop box is very cute indeed!

That is adorable! Is it a pattern or did you design it yourself. Either way, great gift.

Love it! I think the flip-flop fabric would be a welcome change for any teacher. I've been meaning to make some of these boxes...someday. Maybe when Christmas is over and I can make something fun for myself!
