Training Recap: Week 8 (with pictures)

Week 8 - really?? I still can't believe it's been this long! It was a tough week - not the exercise part - but just getting to the gym. Sick kids and crazy-beyond-belief work made it difficult to get to the gym, but when I did - I had great workouts!! And I think I figured something out - if I slow down one step on the treadmill - the run gets a lot easier. I'll have to work on that and update you more later!

However, during a wonderful conversation with my friend Krista, she brought to my attention that though she is enjoying my training posts - there are no pictures. She wants pictures. Well, I don't think I should be taking a camera into the gym to photograph myself on the treadmill. Let's not even get into what others in the gym would think......

So, until I can start running outside (because it's still around freezing temps here) and have someone take pictures while I'm actually doing something resembling exercise, these will have to do:

Protein Bar: after every workout, I snack on one. Hubby says it's good for energy and rebuilding those muscles. And they don't suck. There not a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup or anything, but they don't suck. Bonus.

My gym bag. I'm not usually a pink girl, but being the only girl in the house - it was this or black or blue. And the boys didn't want this. Go figure.
My faithful iPod. Literally - couldn't work out without it. If it broke today, I would go buy a new one tonight. I rely on this little thing THAT much during these runs/workouts. Hmmm - next week, I think we'll talk about what I'm listening to......

Socks. UnderArmour wicking socks to be exact. I never knew that socks (and other "under" things) made such a difference in a run/workout. But boy, do they ever. I won't go into details, but suffice it to say - they really work!

And a supply of water bottles. The one on the left (with the big A) is my favorite, as it has a straw. But the others hold lots more. Always a must on my way to the gym. Unless I'm lazy and not feeling earth friendly, then it's a bottle of water.

So those are the items that help make these workouts happen. They have become a large part of successful runs/workouts! As have all of you who read this silly ole' blog and support this crazy woman in a quest to run 3.2 miles.
Thanks!!

Not to be picky or anything... but I meant pictures of YOU (and the one of your feet doesn't count)! Remember, I don't see you everyday - I prefer to see YOU!

Although the "A" water bottle WITH a straw is pretty cool...

XOXO

Looking forward to hearing what's on your ipod. I always have trouble finding just the right music to keep me going.
