Training Recap: Week 9

I still can't believe we're this far into this. I'm torn between "I can't believe I've done this for so long" and "I can't believe I've done this for so long!"

See the difference???

So here we are at week 9. It was a good week. I felt really good, got all my work outs in and lifted a ton of weight. (Pun intended!) 29,955lbs to be exact. I'm up to running at 3 minute intervals. And ya know - it doesn't sound like a lot, but it sure does feel like it when I'm on that treadmill. But it's feeling better and I can honestly say I think I'm making progress.

Unless we talk about the scale. Which we're NOT doing. In fact, we are turning our nose up, ignoring and flipping off the scale if you must know. You think I'm kidding, but really I've been know to flip off my scale in the morning. But let's not talk about how big of weirdo I am.

Let's talk about iPods and Workout Playlists. Yeah - cuz you certainly won't think I'm a weirdo after this......

My music on my Workout Playlist is kind of all over the board. Keep in mind that my main radio listening is country - I'm a big fan. Here are the highlights:

* I start with Carrie Underwood with Before He Cheats and Last Name. I'm getting a little tired of these though - don't really have that "umph" for working out.

* Then into Kenny Chesney. All the faster upbeat ones: Beer in Mexico, Summertime and Livin' in Fast Forward. I love the rhythm in all of these.

* A little Kid Rock with All Summer Long.
* Maroon 5 and This Love has become a favorite.
* Nickelback with Rockstar This song is great, the video is better (even though I don't watch it while I run) and cracks me up every time.

* Rodney Atkins with If You're Going Through Hell (rather appropriate, dont'cha think?) and These are My People

* A few Shania Twain's but really, I think I'm over her. Gotta get those out of the playlist - I skip them every time.

*Sugarland with Down in Mississippi - this song rocks....LOVE IT!

Then the final 3 that keep me going:

* Survivor with Eye of the Tiger - I know, I know - and yes, it brings back Rocky memories every time, but I tell ya - this song is great for working out.

* Elvis and A Little Less Conversation - again, don't laugh - but this song is GREAT!!

and

The Lost Trailers with Hollerback - you might remember this one from C's video - it, too, is a great work out song.

There is also a little Toby Keith and Trace Adkins thrown in, but I think I need to remove those, too - I find myself skipping them alot.

There you have it - the tunes that keep me moving. It's amazing to me how I rely on the tunes and the iPod. It helps get me through every time!

I'd like to welcome the few new readers I had that popped over from Amanda's blog. Wow! it's amazing the traffic you get when such a talented quilter/blogger mentions you on her blog. Thanks for the link, my friend!! And "Anonymous" if you're reading this -I'd like to hear from you - how in one month you went from being non athletic to running a mile. I'd love to hear more of this story!

And because I haven't said it in a while - thank you to all my wonderful friends (both real life and those whom I've never met, but feel like I know) and hubby who are following this journey with me. It means so much to read your comments and know you support me on this!! Thanks!!

"Rockstar" is one of my favs on my workout playlist. And I too just moved Shania off cause I skip over her. And I really think I need to go download "Eye of the Tiger" now--except I can't not sing along to that song and it wouldn't sound to great as I'm huffing and puffing. Great job on the workouts yet again. And thanks for sharing your playlist--it's fun to see what inspires others.

P.S. The Bench girls got my boys hooked on HSM3 and particularly the "Boys are Back" song. It's now migrated to my workout playlist and I must say I'm lovin' it. Just a suggestion for a fellow MOB (mom of boys).

Where were you able to find Elvis ~ A little less conversation? I've been trying to find that FOREVER!
